Man I love it. Not too loud alot of people told me they had to get rid of it because it was too loud. I got the 3" double wall tips which are huge! Abit bigger than I expected but it's ok. Above 3k rpm the car sounds so throaty, and when I start it up! Oh man does it sound good. I seem to remember someone say that the sound will change after the first day because of the exhaust gaskets needing to seal themselves. Is this true? Also the car seem to emit a strange odor which kinda worries me eventhough carbon monoxide is odorless. Is this normal? I'll post up pics soon and I'll see about getting a sound clip up and running

..that's great news. Is it cat-back only? What about resonator, or cats, or anythign else? Just the bolt on catback? I wonder if turnermotorsport headers and a catback would do a few hp... but at a steep price.

is it possible to buy just the B and B muffler? Or do they only sell the entire catback system?

I hope you wiped ooff any fingerprints if it is SS. or else they will be there forever.

Some smell from a new exhaust is normal as it burns off any residue.

This system retain the stock cat and headers. The system comes with 2 resonators one driver side one passenger side. I'm not sure if they sell the muffler only you can check their website. I've also been looking at the shorty headers from bimmerworld but I'm not sure if they'll fit. I'll post pics first thing in the morning It's pitch black outside right now.

Buy me a dinan exhaust and I'll pay you 750 for it.

For your 540?

Part #:
Price:

D660-5400
$1099.00
Labor Hours: 2.00
Emission Status: 50 State Emission Legal
Peak Horsepower: 317 @ 6000 rpm*
Peak Horsepower Gain: 35 @ 6000 rpm*
Peak Torque: 308 lb/ft @ 5000 rpm*
Peak Torque Gain: 33 lb/ft @ 5000 rpm*
Point Value: 3

Dinan's Free Flow Exhaust for the 540 provides improved flow and the resulting power gains without the excessive noise associated with typical "after-market" mufflers. Internally, the systems feature Dinan's Tuned Resonance Chamber Technology, providing the optimum balance between maximum power gains and a civilized, yet sporty exhaust note.

*Dyno results for the combination of Performance Engine Software and the Free Flow Exhaust.
Exhaust system comes with stock tips, it is not equipped with polished stainless exhaust tips.

My price would probably be 700ish

Macv

Ehh I'll just get the triflow. I'd still wind up paying you more for the dinan. Unless you'll still take 750 for it. :)

ill get a specific price tomorrow, but 540 exhausts are more expensive than the straight 6 e34s.

nice choice on B&B, i've got the same stuff for my 3.0 M60.

talk about throaty - i melt in the drivers seat over 3k. mmmmm.

your video didn't work for me - said it was a private video, and i had to accept a friend request? i'd like to hear the difference between the 2.5 I6 and the 3.0 V8.

i always wondered if a muffler and custom piping would have turned out the same for less money...

Mac- Bavauto has the triflo for your 540 for $850. Triflo-vs-dinan you can figure out which gets my vote:D
Sniper535- Do you have any sound clips of the dinan exhaust?
