My fav car has always been an Aston Martin Volante (most any). The more aged ones are now affordable. What do you folks think?

1997 Aston Martin DB7 Volante ; A true British gentleman with only 28,000 miles. The supercharged inline 6 cylinder produces over 300 horsepower and is mated to an automatic transmission. The black leather interior has Merlot colored piping that match.

check into what maintenance will cost you, before anything. very nice car.

think about Testarossa's - they are also affordable now. But the servicing required for those cars is not...that's the deal breaker.

isnt that the same engine used in a jag?

i dont know much about astons but i know that the supercharged 6 is very reliable. But I do like them. Id do it if i had the cash.

Nice cars, but they were dated before they were even launched, being based ast they were on the old Jag XJS. That doesn't stop me wanting one though. The example shown does look nice, although I do prefer the multi spoke alloys to the rather 'flash' items fitted. If you got the money to run such a car , why not ?

Beauty is only skin deep, as Sidney wrote, its an xj6 in georgeous skin. Now a V12, whole different animal, will lay more rubber than a goat and electronics cannot keep it in check, two things to experience before you go,a Vanquish on full noise and a TVR in the hands of an expert, oh, and 0-60 in 2.9 in my Metro!

XJS Chassis(only downfall)...Inline 6 w/ stick is far superior than the auto. Coupe baby...coupe..

V12s are much better but if you want a cheaper DB7 the inline is the way to go. Both great engines.

If there's a DB7 at that price when the e34 goes kaput, then I won't be moving to an e39 :)

The one you were looking at is pretty low in price. I worked on a 98 volante manual with 40k+ on the ODO and they were asking 49k...

For as bad ass and expensive as that car looks you'd probably want more than 335 HP to pull a 3900 pound car. Every monkey and his brother would be challenging you (at least where I live...) and you would really have to pull the "I'm hot so I don't have to drive fast" trick or else some Honda would smoke you...

Nice looking car though. A "friend" of mine chose a twin turbo V12 AMG Mercedes over a DB7 b/c of the performance, (but to be fair, the Mercedes had 600 hp).

If I were in this car, I wouldn't be smoking it. It's a go slow and be classy car. It's a 'i've already established myself and don't need a 600bhp corvette cock extension' car lol.

I agree wih Qube. Its such a rare car, its beautiful, and driving the car is such an experience by its self because it was a hand built car. I never had the chance to see where they built the DB7 but I was told that the factory was a refurbished barn in the country side.
The Vanquish is in Newport Pagnell which is a quaint little town and its also hand built. Every now and then Ill see little daisys in the inner fenders...:)

DB9/V8 are built at the Gaydon factory which is a complete assembly line but also very much hand built.

So much time, love, and testing go into these cars that the driving expereince is so much more than driving a car from a mass production company.

Power...beauty...Soul...Aston Martin
Every time you switch to position 2 on the ignition barrel this is displayed on the message center. Only the DB9 and V8 Vantage cars that is.

beautiful car...

not one I would want to own, however.
