Hi Guys

Have any of you in the UK fitted performance chips to am M20 525?

Im looking at a report of a guy in the uk that sells on ebay, seems to be independent tests:

Wondering if I should take the plunge and fit one?

You don't pay those prices in the UK? I have quite a few happy customers there. My chips are about 1/3 the price of Superchips or Powerchips so I don't think my chips are too expensive.

After researching what to bring over for my 6 month stay in England, there aren't many things over there that are comparable in price to here. Granted I am going by the Canadian dollar but still works out much cheaper on this side of the pond for most things. Also I have been extremely happy with the chip that Mark sold me. I am sure most will agree that it is bar none the most bang for the buck...no matter what currency you are using.

My two cents ($0.02US that is):

Mark is a trusted source of good information, along with a producer of top quality items. I bet the only reasons his chips are $200US and not $400US is because a) he doesn't have the marketing budget of Conforti and Dinan, and b) he isn't purely driven by making the top per-unit profit at the expense of wider exposure.

$50 isn't too much to risk on an unknown product; so my advice is to buy it if you want to check it out. But you have to ask yourself why it's so much cheaper than all the others. Mark is a BMW enthusiast who has spend lots of his personal time working out issues on BMW products, with lots of beta testers on this board who help him fine tune the chips to our engines. You won't find a better place to get a chip - but you can probably find a cheaper one.

I smell a rat..... But if you feel lucky - go for it. If we don't here a reply on this board, we know the answer!

Mark D do you make chips for a '93 525ia?

well thats what im getting at, this guy sells many of these chips ive read and contacted his feedback...someone somewhere developed these chips and at the end of the day the only cost after development is the cost of the eprom....so either sells lots cheap or few expensive...hell they could even be EAT chips. copied! a copy is as good as an original in this day and age.

apparently they are developed by Venom Motorsport..

Ethics notwithstanding, yes - a copied EEPROM will perform like an original.

never heard of Venom motorsports, try to do some research and find out what they are compared to before you invest, might be crap. Whats the feedback say for their chips?
