Any Guesstamites on what i can get for a 1994 530i, auto 222k motor was supposedely rebuilt at 156k(have some papers) but water pump went ie overheat headgasket and who knows what else. within last 400 miles new rear pads, calipers, rotors, tie rods, 15" tires(but not sure if they will go with it). within last 6 months new front pads, and rotors, heater control valve and probable more. body not perfect but ok black on black, only think that doesn't work is outside temp which always reads -35, rear pasenger window only works from rear(not from center controls), drivers seat rocks a little but heat and movement are fine. factory radio with trunk cd changer, no tools in tool kit ...most likely willput it on fleabay

Where in the world is it? In the UK, it's worth at most £200.

Is the head-gasket blown or was that the cause for the rebuild at 156k? It's not clear, but for the sake of argument I'm assuming it's fixed now. Regardless, if this is a Nikasil block, not Alusil, and with an automatic transmission, at this mileage I doubt the car will bring $3000 even on Epay. ASC, or not? Since the seller asked for estimates, I'll say $2500---and I'm not a buyer.

As you know... it is not worth that much because a rebuilt or used motor will cost more than the car itself. Maybe you can score a cheap used engine and put it in... doesn't someone here have a used engine they just yanked out?

or at least haven't tried to start it after temperature guage went it red and tried to make it the 2 miles to rest are(Yeah I know should of stopped then) then the puffs of smoke came visible in mirror.had it flat bedded by AAA the 110 miles home for $50.00. I am Located in southern NH, already checked the-euro-depot and nothing laying around their; they would have to get one from someone else; have dealt with Nick and Joel for several years. pretty much decided to let it sit for a few weeks then look at it again and decide to part it out or sell it whole or bury it in garage for some time(still have some e23 parts in basement from 4 yrs ago) was sort of just looking for confirmation that it will be more to fix than it would cost to get another one, think i might thro it in fleabay for $999. and see what happens

I see, not running. If it's only gaskets fix it.
If you put it up for auctio don't list a buy it now price. Let the auction run it's course. You never know what someone is willing to pay

Only think that doesn't work is outside temp which always reads -35- - 25 bucks behind front tire under splash shield. It's yellow with black tip. Very easy to replace.

Rear pasenger window only works from rear(not from center controls)- 45 bucks or pull it out, wash it off/drench it in alcohol. Let dry. It's just copper and plastic.

Drivers seat rocks a little but heat and movement are fine- Tighten the bolts on the floor.

My advice is to fix those little things- they cost nothing, and give the car to a relative. If it's in good condition they will get more use out of it than you will get in money. If you are poor, you can try working harder to get money. Selling this car won't do it.
