Is it legal to replace the US bumper trim with side reflectors with a reflectorless European style bumper trim? Thanks.

No though most places won't care.

Part of having a Euro car DOT legalized his them putting retarded side markers on.

Would it effect inspection?

Depends on the person inspecting the car - in all technicality, it is illegal and you would fail safety inspection. However, I don't have side markers and I know of hundreds of cars without them and they all pass. Depends on where you get the car inspected and how much they want to rape you for money.

You won't have trouble getting it through. Even in states where the STATE runs the inspection centers, I've never heard of anyone not passing on this account.

Fact is, most cars have them integrated into the headlight/taillight now. Inspectors probably don't even look.

It's really not a mod that is noticed outside of our community. People probably will look at your car and think it looks cleaner than normal, but not be able to place why. Inspectors included :)
