Hey guys,

Our annual E34 get-together is scheduled for August 18-19[/I].
To be held at Wingman's place in Goulburn NSW.

We would like to invite ALL E34 drivers to attend.
This will also include the guys from the M5/LE board
So there will be some fantastic examples of our chosen BMW to be seen.

If you would like to attend but are from interstate, please leave me a PM and we can arrange transport from the airport.

Hi all,

Just got back from my month away and see some confusion as to dates. The plan was for the 11/12 August. I am still good to go for these dates however although the slab has been lad for the mancave it will not be completed for possibly another week. My proposal is this:

If it is convenient for everyone we can put it back to the following weekend and this will allow for the M5/LE guys to join us. If however the 11/12 is best for you guys we will keep it on those dates. The weekend can still be run without the mancave but it would have been nice to have it operational. I would like those who intend on coming to please RSVP to this thread ASAP. I can accomodate about 10 in my house but it will be like at MattyB's with airmats and sleeping bags (I have some beds but it's best to bring your sleeping bags/mats). Without being rude, priority will be given to the regular Bimmer. info gang to stay over. For those who would rather a motel I can supply numbers for local motels on request. Further info is as follows:

1. No skid pan, sorry.
2. 'Tulip' style rally/treasure hunt planned for Saturday.
3. Weather is currently ranging from -3 to 16 so bring your woollies.
4. BYO alcohol.
5. Parking will be on the street but I live in a good safe area so there should be no dramas.
6. Any ideas for activities gladly accepted.

For the M5/LE guys we really hope you can join us. As the Ulysses Club says, "No strangers just friends we haven't met yet!"

All the best

hi tony, that weekend after sounds good as i had some bad news just the other day and had to commit to it. my wife has been given three days in Melbourne all expences paid , care of fosters for the employees awards weekend and although she knew about the love in 5 months ago fosters only told her last week about melbourne. she offered i could do what I wanted but we all know what that means eh, but she deserves I should be there as I should, so have been burning in hell allweek hoping melbourne would burn down or the fosters awards would be moved to Goulbourn. i am a definate non starter for the 11/12 but wont let anything get in the way of the 18/19 if it is to be the weekend.

Apologies if I sound like I am trying to organise everyone, but it occurred to me today as I was changing brake rotors on my E39 that Tony is going to a lot of trouble for us and that we should perhaps try to reduce the burden on him (and his family) as much as possible.

To this end I was wondering how you would feel about finding a restaurant for dinner on Saturday night, thus reducing the burden on Tony. I am not terribly familiar with restaurants in Goulburn other than the Paragon, which I presume is to be avoided. However a client of mine who lives at Taralga recommended one to me and I wonder if we should get Tony to choose.

The place that was recommended to me was the Blue Plate Restaurant which is apparently associated with the Posthouse Motor Lodge. I have never been to it so have no idea of prices / standard etc. I'm sure Tony will.

I presume the alternative would be a BBQ but this way we could head back to Tony's after dinner.

Any opinions ?

I suppose if we were to go to a restaurant we could make a rough booking soon and ring them on Saturday with a more precise number.

Also I think it would be a good idea if we all brought some food / desserts / nibblies etc to take even more of the pressure off Tony.

You should have come out to the boat for a look - I could've used a hand there today - mounting the damn anchor winch. Do you go through Berowra Waters often?

I nearly pranged the M5 today - went in to Nth Parra - turning left into Windsor Rd from Old Northern, luckily I didn't put the boot in - a guy coming up Windor did a U turn at the lights across two lanes of left turning traffic. I missed him by 3'.

Bit of thread drift here - but wife's father was a navigator in Sunderlands in Britain (flew with the Odd Bods). Dad's brother flew Beaufighters then Mosquitos. .... and just the other night I got what looks pretty certain to be a recording of Dad being captured in Crete.

Hello guys,

Sorry for not being in contact for what feels like a lifetime!
I am sure you have all guessed that I cannot make the meet, sorry for the really late notice Tony.

Greg, my apologies for not replying to your PM over at ECCA. :(

My Wife is on tour through greater QLD for the next three weeks,(she left on Tuesday) we have just had a very bad bout of the Flu gallop through the household (I didn't fall victim to it *touches wood*) She left, just recovering, but is on the mend. Kids both still have hacking coughs but are otherwise bright and cheery.

I thought about getting a sitter for the kids for four days (No family options unfortunately) but that will cost big $$$ on top of the roadtrip.

Bottom line, I thought that the Wife would cancel herself out of the Tour and I would be able to get away at the last minute....... but no.

So have a Bundy Bear or three for me Tony, I hope to catch up with all of you the next time around.

Cheers!

Sorry to hear that Keith, Rowan, Rob. We're going to miss you guys- we've done the same thing as before though- changed the venue from the planned one to MattyB's in Terrigal. We're heading up from Sydney late in the morning.

You guys have as good a weekend as you can now- good luck with the family issues/moves/kids/gfs! :) Nick
