Well, I've experienced my first actual failure. I killed the voltage regulator (I hope) testing out the new car stereo. Kind of funny, it went something like this.

Eric> Hmmm, I wonder how loud it'll go?

co-worker> I don't know, let's find out.

Eric, turns up stereo using remote when it suddenly shuts off> Oh crap!

Anyways, it was way too loud to sit in the car. After the amp shut off the battery light came on and no juice from the alternator. OBC showed 12v and it dropped to 9.5 by the time I got home. Charged it and drove it to work and left it there for the night. Probably drawing about 80 amps from the battery.

The brushes were pretty much gone anyways, so hopefully the new regulator will fix it when it gets here.

Stereo is
CD400
Sony XM7557
TC Sounds TC-7 IB'd using ski bag hole
Seas tffn27 tweets
Dayton RS150 mids
No back speakers.

La Habra, huh? Ever come out to the LA meets? Interested in seeing your setup, I need to finish my a/d/s-mb quart-mtx-cdt setup in the 540 one of these days...

Never been. Would be cool to check out some other setups. Mine is very far from a show car though. Here's a couple pics. Still need to finish the upholstery and put everything back together.
