Does anyone know the steps and parts that I need to do the Brakes? It's on '02 530i.

There's some information when doing search in the forums, however I just want to be pretty certain that I am getting the right parts. I need to replace the front and rear brakes and don't know which ones are installed currently. Therefore, I rather get the OEM brake pads.

muchas gracias

You can look up part numbers at www.realoem.com by using the last 7 digits of your vin number.

This should allow you to buy pads and / or rotors from BMA or similar. Ring or email Patrick at BMA and I am sure he will help you. On E34, Jurid are, or are close to, OEM for pads. At 52 k miles, your rotors probably need replacing as well, if they haven't been done recently.

For info on how to do the job, go to Bruno's site at www.bmwe34.net for how to do it on an E34. I cannot imagine that an E39 is much different.

Alternatively you can go to your dealer and buy whatever you need.

Even mechanical morons like me can do brake rotors and pads with almost ease - so its worth a go yourself. :D
