View Full Version : 2003 M5 wheels on an E34?

Came across a deal for some 2003 M5 wheels (17x7.5 with 41mm offset--they were previously on an E36), and was wondering if they would be a snap to toss on my '95 525i? I don't want to risk stressing out my car or risking a bunch of vibration, but if they are an easy snap-on, I think it'd be fun to use them.

Wheel experts, what do ya think?

Cheers!

I don't know about that exact offset... but I know for a fact either those or a different size DO fit.

I've seen a few e34's with that style wheel.

Won't work, the offset is off too much. If it fit well on an e36, it won't on ours.

They are NOT real 2003 M5 wheels then. They only came in 18" wheels. Ones you saw is replicas of M5 rims. Offset of 41mm will require spacers to fit correctly. Picture shown of the black E34 M5 looks like the real M5 18" staggered 8" wide fonts and 9.5" wide rears.

Not to mention the hub sizes are different. (well, at least on real e39 wheels):D

I put 16" e38 basket weaves on my car, they had a 23mm offset and barely fit, i mean barely, so 41 is out of the question the wont fit at all unless you use spacers which i dont like cuz they cause vibrations, the safe offset for the e34 is prolly from 13mm-23mm with out spacers. (Original is 20mm for reference), from my understanding the higher the number the closer it is to the car, and the lower the number the further it is from the car.

They are replicas as well. Thanks for the input--I'll pass on the wheels.

Cheers!

Anyone know why BMW changed hub size on E39 from 72.56mm to 74.1mm? And the E60 is back to 72.56mm?

so what you're saying is that e60 wheels don't need hubcentric rings to fit on an e34? I've heard this was the case but i am scheptical

I noticed that... maybe fake? That would be a neat upgrade.

I thought it was a late option on e34's?

They are, yy_101 has them on his e34 1995 540i.
