After chaging to MTL for trans fluid, shifting is quicker now. The next gear engages quicker. Before, there seemed to be a very, very slight delay between mechanically engaging the gear and it actually 'catching'.

Now there is another issue. While it was there before, I'm addressing it now because it's getting more prominent. I think I know what the problem might be. It seems to be isolated to under the center console/armrest. It's probably the guibo (again).

The sound is like if you agressively took off and there was wheel hop (thump). Now take that noise, dial it down like 90%, and take away the physical thump feeling. There. That's it.

You'll hear it at the beginning of this recording. I've amped it up so it sounds more harsh than it is. Guibo then? I only hear it reving up to about 2000/2500rpm in first.

Sounds like it (wording not .wav - can't listen), my e36 did this for months, before a shop explained it to me.

Updated Fix: seizing U joint.

Did the bad joint eat your guibo?
