Hi all, I have a Problem. My wonderful wife has lost the keys to her E34 525 td and I need to know if I was to get another remote alarm blipper fob thing from Ebay, how can I get the alarm to recognise the new one. I have disabled the alarm at the moment so she can drive it with the spare key. Has anybody got any ideas how I can get this sorted out?

You`re going to have to bite the bullet and buy key from dealer and get them to code it.It may be cheaper to get a new alarm fitted. Some specialists can do this(original key) but not many, do Not buy that key on E Bay, if its already coded its only good for stirring tea.We have a specialist in Southampton called Hartley who may be able to help.

Look in the owners manual on whether you can reprogram alarm system to recognize new key fob.

I think it's a factory fitted one as it has BMW part number on the side of it.
