I saw in the manual that 17" wheels set up must have 235 on front and 255 on rear (staggered?). Also, recommend tire pressure 33psi fronts/ 41psi rears.

What does this mean if I'm using 235 all around? If this is okay then what should the tire pressure for the rears be? Thank you.

is that pressure rating for when there is 4-5 passangers and luggage in the trunk? because running the rears that much higher then the front seems counterintuitive.

tell us how your using the car: 95% by your self or with a single passanger? ... full of people all the time.

wife up front, young kids in the back, not much in the trunk. Thanks.

How will having 235s all around affect the car?

No, you should be fine if the wheel size is the same for all 4

Rule number one of performance (cars, computers, etc)... never follow the manual. :)

235 all around is normal. As far as pressure goes, it really depends on your tire. On the bridgestone we have, car seems to ride much better 38 PSI front and 41 rear.

I think it's best to visually inspect the tires at those pressures and see if none of them flex too much. AFAIK too much pressure is uncomfortable and when exceeding the tire limitations things get dangerous. Too little is dangerous because you'll flex the sidewalls too much stressing the tires too much. I can't follow the rules in the manual because of the extra weight in the trunk with the LPG tank and so I give the rear tires an extra 0.3 bar over the pressure in front.

The original 17 inch rims were staggered (different widths, 8 inch front and 9 inch or 9.5 inch in back) I believe... that's what the manual referred to.

Mine seems to have optional wheels which are 8inch on the front and 9 on the back. All with 235/45/17's. Car runs fine and was pretty damn good at the Nurburgring too ! I run them at 35psi front, 37 rear.

Once again get your faithfull Blue-point temp gun out, hammer it down a road you know, measure temps across the tread, even temp, right pressure. Before that i assume all angles are correct by old faithfull piece of string round all four wheels?

Please be more specific to a newbie. Do you mean measure the diameter of the wheels with a piece of string? I don't have the "Blue-point temp gun". Is it expensive? Where do I get one? Thanks.

Don't worry about this... you are getting all worried for nothing.
