I had to drive 300 miles this way after my right rear blew out today. Was this risky? I gotta say though i could interpolate from that fat tire that I would not mind that kind of soft ride all the time if they didn't look so.... what's the word...?

Did you get home?

Yes but somewhere i'd heard this is a big No-No so the question lingered. It rode perfectly fine and i kept it under 80 mph.

about the worst thing that could happen is if you had a lsd it could wear the clutches, but other that that it won't hurt anything, you could size the tire on the spare to match the same overall height of the 17s (if it doesn't already) then it probably wouldn't even really handle different

if you have the correct size 17s the speed differential would be so small it wont matter. The diff just thinks you were going round right(or left) handers all day

if your spare is original dimensions, and your 17" have proper size tyres, the circumferrence of the wheels is identical, so no problem, even if you have lsd.
