Last year was go-karting, which was great. I'm not sure if this is going to be arranged this year. If it's not, then lets have a backup event ready to go. Some of you locals would know of some places we could meet up. So i suggest we find a nice quiet pub and hang out. What do all of you have in mind?

Street racing……………Chinatown.

*crickets chirping*

Fogies
Nice ‘quiet’ pub is gonna be hard on a Friday night, but one that isn’t too loud could be found. Do we want to stay in the general vicinity Woodfield/Schaumburg? A few places still out there, even though our favorites are gone; Prairie Rock and The Currah. I have no qualms about venturing further into the city (twist my arm).
Another idea would be maybe a late night cruise thru the city; LSD, lower wacker, down Lincoln Ave around DePaul (for the hunnies *grin*).

”Hang up & Drive!”
94 BMW 530iT&A 135K, ‘Helga’ ( for sale....WHOOPS, haulin again *confused* )
92 BMW 325i 135K, ‘Rolf’ ( perfect ‘cept for raw bumpers *sigh* )
91 Volvo 740 Turbonium Vagon 195K ‘Thor’ ( where’s my check! *rolleyes* )
93 Datsun NX2000 175K ‘Carla’ ( beater rocket is back *whoohoo* )
85 Toyo MR2 125K ‘Jerry’ ( dare i drive it *duh* )

I guess it depends on who's going, who chooses. I'm up for whatever myself. this is also only if we don't go karting, which is what i want to do honestly.

I'm up for the karting as well. Besides being so much fun, it looks like a great way for first-timers at the meet to get to know each other.

Karting would be fun. Where did everyone go last year?
I know of a few good eating/drinking establishments for after. One has in my opinion the finest hamburger around, < than 15 min. from Busse woods.

Last year we went karting, as per the pic in my first post.

I meant where was the karting place. There was one on Algonquin Rd., Iwas wondering if that was it.

So what have we decided on this year? I dont think anyone set up Karting, so i think we should get on the horn with some place and get something organized. i'm down for something a bit cheaper this year since gas is ridiculous. How much is a gallon of premium up in Chicago now?

Premium is ~$4.00 in the suburbs I shudder to think about it in Chicago proper where it's taxed even more heavily.
What does it have to do with karting though??
I'm well familiar with restaurants in the surrounding area. If folks want to chime in with preferrences I can make suggestions.
There is also (I think it's still there) a large games and eating/drinking place, Gameworks, nearby if the group is less inclined to real racing.
I vote for karting and cocktails after.
I'd make a poll but since I am nearly computer illiterate someone else will need to if that seems a good idea.

I believe you have to setup karting in advance for such a large group, and then someone would have to put up a deposit with a credit card. I dont have a credit card so i can't :D . Also i haven't seen a real big expressed interest for karting again this year.
