Microfilters were put in the 91+ e34.

You don't have one.

Guys, I attempt to do this 5 mins ago. But I couldn't even get through the very first step.

How do you guys unclip that glove box metal clips? Do I need to pry them off with screw driver? I just don't want to break them.

Thanks in advance!

Its the standard bitch for anybody trying to remove the bitching thing, second time easy! Get somebody who has done it before to hand and you`ll save hours. One of the few advantages of RHD, no glove box hassles.

Thanks to you guys and this web page (sorry to post other forum page - but we are in the same community, aren't we). It took me ~2 hrs to get this done for the first time. I am so glad i did. I have never seen any micro filter this dirty in my life. Boy, it must have been there for 13 years. I had to use wrench extension tied with tooth brush to clean the fiter housing and vac the leaves and dirt all out. The air flow now is like from the first day the car was built 13 years ago ! :D

True, but we have pedals in the way! Which case is worse, glove box or pedals? I've never attempted to change my microfilter before, although I know I'm up for it, the last service I did at my local indy didn't bother to change it.

I was under my Drivers side with Pedals last week to change the Blower Resistor. It was a pain but everything seems to have gone back properly. The one thing i might do next time when i attack the Heater Core is removing the section of duct which is fastened to that thin black plastic under panel .I just shoved it all back up in there and can't actually tell if i got the end of the duct back seated fully over the vent opening . I should be able to tell from the feel of the air blowing but i don't. Otherwise it took about a half hour all together.
