My interior (courtesy) light not working

folks, somehow this week a couple of unrelated items gone wrong on my faithful (hand me down) e34.

usually when i switch off the engine or when i open the doors, the interior lights (one in front and the two at the rear C pillars) automatically lights up - well now they don't. nothing wrong with the lights themselves though - they light up when i switched them on manually.

what relay or fuse could be at fault?

or something worse :(

Maybe take a look at the switch contacts/clean them, I know I have to wiggle the switch a little sometimes on mine. I personally haven't looked at my switch contacts, just what I'm assuming I need to do.

Also, it could be the door micro switch?...
Do the lights work if you open a door besides the driver's?
