alright i'm gonna need some serious help here
1990 bmw 525ia
here's my list

power windows/sunroof don't work
central locking doesn't work
obc is lit very dimly, can't read display unless at really weird angle
gear indicator is barely visible
wipers only work on full
blower only works on full
turn signal lever acts up(turning lights act eradically then work fine)
back door lights don't work(could be bulbs)

what works
power mirrors, heated seats, window switches light up(dimly), interior lights work, all head lights/brake lights and fogs work fine

i changed the fusable link, picked up rm, gm, ccm, lkm from a 92 525ia
replaced all the fuses(front and back)

there's a clicking coming from the power protection relay)

any ideas??

!!!edit!!!
i checked on another post i don't have anything in power protection relay
pin 8, nothing there!

Has the pin 8 dropped out the bottom of the holder?

nothing there, traced the wire back some, and nothing

i jumped pin 6 & pin 8 from underneath(relay in place), and the windows/sunroof etc didn't work

but the central locking now works???

edit

new info, winsheild washer fluid pump doesn't work either, but the heavy detergent pump works

According to my Bently pin 8 should have a red/rgey wire to it which connects to the red/grey wire at pin 6 so your jumper ought to solve that.
I'll give the rest some thought and reply later

Try jumping pins 2 & 6 at the pp relay to see if the windows work.
The OBC sounds like the bulb only.
I don't understand the prob with the turn signal stalk.
The fan could be the "sword", covered here, search sword.

Is this car new to you or do you have some history? Did all this stuff go at once? Sounds like a bunch of unrelated issues to me.

unfortunately i bought the car as is for a really low price, and these problems were already present

as for the turn, i traced it to a loose wire

i'll check out the sword repairs tonight

i'll jump pins 2 & 6 when i get time later tonight and i'll give you the results

thanks!!

alright some more info

i jumped 2 & 6 nothing, i'm getting 12 volts across the pins

the pp relay has stopped clicking

fuse 30 is only giving me(7.5amp) 0.19 volts ---> going to replace wire and let you know what happens

installing jumper between 6 & 8 on pp relay

alright replaced the wires at fuse 30, now getting 12 volts but still no windows

tried jumping pins 2 & 6 again nothing (but still getting 12 volts), all other fuses in rear are all still getting 12 volts

no idea?

swapped gm and rm still no diff --- but sounds like relay module is clicking?

Are the switches all connected at the console?

There are no magical shortcuts to solving electrical problems. Get a cheap multimeter and dig into the wiring diagrams and the wiring. If you've not done electrical work before, get help from someone who has.

all the switches should be pluged in(i'll have to check), but the only switch that is out, is the rear passenger door window switch

is there any way for me to check out the connections(voltage) for the gm & rm
