I'm considering lowering the 1989 535i using the Sachs Performance Kit (http://www.bavauto.com/se1.asp?dept_id=393) doing the installation myself without help. I'm limited in free time to do the project and the work will be done outside (no garage). I may not be able to complete both the front and rear ends in one session.
Is there any harm, poor handling or other drawbacks to driving the car with only the front end lowered? It is my daily driver.

Thanks

Jim

not much of a drawback... you would feel the stiffer spring rate of your front though.. if your concern is the ride height, the rear lowering spring might give you approximately half an inch drop only (based from my B+G spring). hope this helps..

the handling could become dangerous if you plan to only lower the front, if you are truely meaning that you would lower the rear say the next week you should be fine...just dont be testing the handling characteristics on the freeways or whatever.

Edit: Bavauto is generally much more expensive than almost any other supplier...autohausaz.com/bmaparts.com
