Finally got my 5-sp trans installed, and the clutch pedal is super soft, to the point that I wonder if it's got enough force to overcome the over-center spring. This can't be normal...

Specifics:
Auto to Manual trans swap - 1/87 735i donor car
New BMW/Sachs clutch kit
Flywheel is freshly turned '87 735i single mass flywheel
New BMW master cylinder and slave cylinder
Used a stainless braided line directly from master to slave cylinder

Clutch seems to engage and disengage fine at about the over-center point of the pedal travel, clutch doesn't slip. Bled the clutch about 10 times, not getting any air out with fluid...

WTF, how do I get rid of this wet-noodle clutch? It makes it hard to control the clutch with it being so soft...

My pedal was feather soft for a few weeks after having the clutch plate /flywheel replaced. It was hard not to stall and not to burn rubber for that time.It has since firmed up. If its not slipping and otherwise seems to work it must be normal though exactly why its like this or what's happening when it forms up is unknown to me.Hopefully someone will splain it .
