Tire size ?

I got the e38 16" rims - I know to get 225/55/16 for them... the question is why in the owner manual does it list the M5 16" rim size as having 225/50/16?

I have 225-50-16 Pirelli pZero nero's on e38 botlecaps. They are smaller than I'd like. Their replacements will be 225-55-16's. The 225-50's don't fill out the wheelwell like the 325-45-17's on the throwing stars.
