just rewire the backside of the tailight with some careful pulling and tugging..i was actually planning on doing this tomorrow when there's light.

a previous owner of my car installed a brake light bulb into the tail light socket and the extra heat melted and warped the taillight assembly around the bulb.

I ordered the DEPO Euro Smileys from a company selling some of their stuff on ebay, but when i opened the package i found DEPO Angel Eyes assemblies. I was furious with what i found but after installing them (because I needed my car to be able to drive at night) I began to like them, and everyone at work seemed to like the angel eyes. I like the overall look of the lights when not turned on. they look more modern but i still wish i had the smileys.

My guess is that the point of this modification is to make the bottom and top red sections light up individually instead of concerted. This way your running lights and your brake lights are separate.

No, but that would be a better mod than this IMO - I personally like the OE running lights, they're refined.

I will work it out eventually, in the mean time does anyone have a spare tail light that they want to get rid of.

Anyways, I would think that you could get a ticket here in the states for having the top light as a driving light, a cop could easily cite you for a stuck brake light.

the top light wouldn't be on as a tail light
