I posted this on BFC but thought it would be good to post here too.

Well, I finally got the center shifter surround piece in! It is pretty awesome, the quality is perfect. I took a few photos of the piece next to an OEM LTW dash panel for reference as to how similar the weave and color is. The E34 piece is not quite as grey, but has more of a hint of olive to it. Well here are the pictures:

Top is the E36 piece, Bottom is E34.

If anyone wants either the E36($150) or the E34($190) piece I can get them for you.

Seems a tad steep, considering carbon sheets are now readily available, dirt cheap. The walnut veneer is just stuck on to the base. Its not like the new moulded consoles.

It would be even better if it were molded from the M5 surround.

I understand what you are saying... but its the price you have to pay for OEM. I personally am a sucker of anything OEM.
