I am trying to work out where the handbrake switch that controls the telltale light is, the light on the dash mine seems to be only dimming slightly (rather than going completly off when the handbrake is off. I'm thinking that is the attached to no. 5 in this diagram http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HD52&mospid=47375&btnr=34_0349&hg=34&fg=30
the altenator light was on dimly also when i first had this problem seems like i've got a big current draw there.
