Yesterday was Test & Tune day at the local drag strip. Wasn't too many people there, just a lot of old muscle and tangs. I thought the 535 would do better than it did. I am kind of disapointed but she ran pretty good.

I took out all the **** out of my trunk. I tried wasting as much gas as I could on the way there, as I had a half tank when I left home. I ran the times with a little more than 1/4 tank on 93 octane, EAT Chip, automatic, everything else stock.

These times aren't in order from the runs I did. Also, first time racing at a strip. I ran using manual mode, as I don't know if yours does it too but mine wont shift at 6500, I have to manually do it. I was going to run it on regular sport mode but I didn't have enough time to do more runs. Maybe going next weekend too and compare with the stock chip :) Here it is.

R/T....... .160 ...... .306 ....... .060 ......... .056
60'........ 2.493 ...... 2.493 ....... 2.692 ........ 2.516
30'........ 6.909 ...... 6.918 ....... 7.101 ......... 7.061
1/8....... 10.447 ...... 10.446 ....... 10.644 ........ 10.700
MPH...... 70.25 ....... 69.99 ....... 70.01 ......... 68.42
1000'..... 13.460 ...... 13.486 ....... 13.664 ......... 13.787
1/4.. .....16.004 ...... 16.036 ....... 16.224 ......... 16.391
MPH....... 88.40 ..... 88.45 ........ 88.07 ......... 86.39

Let me know what you guys think? I though it would run better 1/4 mile times. Every once in a while I throw a Lambda sensor CEL but rarely. I had the hood open in staging lanes every time, to try to cool the intake. It didnt feel like its full potential. Does anyone have any comparison times?? Anyone have times with stock chip? Maybe I need to tighten my throttle cable?? I think these times are slow lol.

the drag strip is not really my kinda thing, our cars are made for going around corners!. But i am interested in the numbers. trying to sound not-stupid ;) could you please explain the numbers a little bit?!

Well, these are heavy cars that are 20 years old in your case, not exactly fit for this kind of application... however, I would have just used sport mode, I think the "manual" switch on the autobox is designed for towing purposes, not dragging ;) . In all, the numbers don't seem too off to me

At least there comparable! What did you expect with a slush-box?! Trade it in for a 540m6 and try again!:D

The numbers are close to what I expected but I was shootin for mid 15. My car won't redline at 6500 for some reason in either sport or economy.

I wanted to do diff runs with diff shift points and diff ways but again I had to be back early for my bro's b-day party and didn't have time to tinker around.

I didn't feel too bad though, there was a RX-8 there, brand new, ran slower than I did and he had a manual.

My buddy brought his 400awhp Talon TSI up from Chicago. We ran together one time (my best time lol) he ran a 12.4. He just put a standalone in it, and was havin a bitch of a time gettin it tuned right on 110 octane. He should be low 11's.

My brother brought his newly acquired e28 from me, broke the shift linkage 3 run in, and had a hard time launching it because of the VHT or whatever on the track. He ran 17's in the 528e.

All in all, We had a bitchin time :D Specially when I got rocked by a 10 second Chevette LOL

Personal best in my old '93 525i 5-spd was 15.0 with Mark's chip. It was a ridiculous fast car, no idea how it managed that. it did have LSD though, that helped off the line a bit. My '98 540i managed a 13.99 when it was nice and cool out :)

15 sounds WAYtoo fast for our cars - did you have a 50 mph tail wind? :p

But really, how fast is it?

With all that fancy stuff under there, i'm curious to know what it can do.

Forgive me if I missed a thread about it somewhere...

Judging from the data; it takes about 9 seconds to get to 60mph/100km/h, is that right?
