Hi Guys,

A neighbour has called on my 'expertise' to service his 1990 e34 518. I have the Bentley manual for my 540, but it does not cover the little engines.

All fairly standard - oil, filters, belts, tappets, possibly plugs and points (or is it electronic ignition?).

I am sure I can work it out without one, but I always prefer to be prepared - I don't want to end up spending my whole sunny weekend fiddling with somebody else's car!

If anybody can send, or knows where I can find an electronic manual I would be very grateful. I believe there is a Haynes manual in the UK but I don't feel like spending £14 on it!

Cheers

I've got wiring diagrams available for download here: http://shark.armchair.mb.ca/~dave/BMW/

There's nothing specifically for the 518 and 520. However, all E34 share essentially the same chassis wiring, the 520 engine is the same wiring as the 525, and the 518 engine is the same as the 318.

On my website is the Haynes, should probably cover that engine.
o.k. Haynes is not ideal, but better than nothing.
