I saw this M5 hanging out here on Camp Walker (Daegu), South Korea, a few months ago and talked to the owner a bit. He bought it while stationed in Germany, and had it shipped straight to Korea when he came here, so it's a euro-spec car. Finally got around to taking a few pics- thought everyone might like to have a peek! And no... unfortunately the guy has NO intention to part with the car any time soon! :(

It's a nice sight driving past this car, when I'm used to seeing shitty, beat-up Kias and Daewoos all day!

Oops! Sorry! Hmm... odd. They show up fine on my machine, but I'll try hosting them somewhere else... maybe that'll work

Your hosting service may not allow for linking to content. I know geocities does that for their hosting service. Others may as well.

Tried using Kodak Gallery at first, bun now just using Myspace... that seemed to work for my signature pic. Should be fixed now. Let me know!

Hah! That would be nice, but it doesn't QUITE work that way. Sure- if you want to buy GM products or a Harley, they will deliver it right to your duty station, and you get a great discount. Unfortunately BMW only has a few military sales locations, and you really don't get that much of a break on price. (Besides... you can only by NEW that way, and I prefer the older stuff.)

I think this guy (he's a civillian contractor or something, not a "green-suiter") bought this car on the economy while he was working for the Army in Germany, and then got a job in Korea... shipped his car there direct from Germany with all his other stuff. I, as a lowly captain on an unaccompanied one-year tour, was not authorized to ship a vehicle here. SO... for the year, I am stuck driving my $700 1993 Kia Sephia that I bought the week I got here.

I made one mod to the car- adding roundel stickers on hood and trunk, which naturally raised my redline from 6k to 7.5k! :D I call it my "Ki-M-W".

unfortunately with the red rims it looks like the driver has applied some kia'esque styling accents

Not really... just the inside view of the base perimiter wall. Its construction may be a little over-zealous, as we've got a great relationship with the South Koreans, especially here in Daegu. This city was the northwest corner of the "Pusan Perimeter" where ROK and US soliders held the line shoulder-to-shoulder, and the older generations still remember that. They won't let the younger generations forget either.

First car I've ever seen that uses the lower bumper center light.
