thats correct old bob an 11mm socket with multisides will undo it - has like 12 "corners" in it. had to do the same with mine the leather a great inprovement - if you didnt have rear headrests before you will need to get the brackets for them that bolt onto the chassis

you need to do 2 things:

move the seat up as high and far forward as it will go
remove the small torx screws holding the plastic piece to the outer side of the seat so you can pull it back.

Hi Bob

I've got one of those tools. I could probably meet up with you in town and give you a loan of it.

thats a fantastic price bob mine were a lot more than that- strange but my seatbelt was fairly easy to undo from rear seat with front all the way forward- suggest you give them a good clean/treatment while not in the car as its a lot easier- thats the seats not the bolts;)

may I take this opportunity to tell you guys that imagine this happening to you everytime you have to undo any bolt in the engine bay.....
this is what a holden astra is like........

Plus they are kind of car that break all the time, hopefully my gf will bite the bullet soon and buy a 318ti and I'll never had to see one of those POS again.

on another note bob where did you buy those seats? at a wrecker or private sale?

Ebay Guy told me he bought an interior for his E28 and found they wouldn't fit.
