I hoping someone on the boards can help as my two Dealers are no help in this instance.

I need the Radio Code for my project car, but the serial number tag has some moisture damage and is unreadable. I partially disassembled the radio and couldn't find it either. As a result, I can't get the radio code. I asked at both dealers if they could look up the code via VIN and both were not able to do so. I remembering someone posting here that it was possible to get a code via the VIN number, just not as reliable.

Before I completely rip the radio apart looking for a stamp on chip somewhere, is there anyone here who has a way to lookup the code in the database via the VIN number. Any help would be appreciated. If you can get it, you can PM me or just post it here.

1992 525iT The last seven of my VIN are: GD20283

Thanks.

Maybe shoot an e-mail to these guys & see if they can crack it with a VIN:

Edit: Have you tried to get the radio to display its serial number?

I'll try the "m" button trick today, thanks.

EDIT: Trick did not work to get serial number. Looks like I'll have to just get the old screwdriver out and start tearin that thing apart...
