You should specify what springs and shocks you are considering.

well alot of people will tell you straight off the bat that using stock shocks with lowering springs is a big no no

I'm using Eibach lowering springs and stock shocks and the ride is unbelievable. It's the perfect balance of ride comfort and handling. I don't see the problem

Same here, eibach/stock shocks. Mind you, I bought new Boges, but have nothing bad to say about the set-up. No bottoming out...............ever.
