Is there anything you can do to test any suspect coil packs,on an M60 ?

theres a ohm test but i find most of the time the bad ones ohm just fine, if the check engine code doesn't tell you which cylinder is missing i pop coil wires one at a time till i find the one that doesn't effect the miss, (or use my kv meter)

OK. silly E34 newb question: What kinda code reader do I need for that ? Thanks

you can do the stomp test to retrieve the codes (do a search if you don't know how, the code list will probably come up in the same search)

That is correct, U.S. models only, was required from somewhere 1988 or so, Bill B once mentioned that.
Winfred probably did not check his profile, so that is why I found that he is from the U.K.

That's what I figured, Winfred didn't notice the "UK Spec" in his profile, which is why I mentioned it.

I didn't want him to drive himself nuts trying to do the stomp test.:D
