About a week ago, when I started up, the left half of the LCD display was barely lit up. Does this mean the whole LCD Module is going, or...?

Searches here didn't turn up anything conclusive.

I have a few lines out completely in mine... is this a bulb issue too? Kind of doubt it.

It's the bulb (or LED?) - the left hand side of the LCD is still working, it just isn't being backlit properly.

By a few lines out, do you mean that a few horizontal rows or a few vertical columns of the pixels have stopped working?

If so then you've got a bad connection between the driver circuitry and the LCD display. The bad connection could be on the LCD display itself. It's not the bulb.

Horizontal lines.

you could attempt to fix it.

It may just be the connector strip has separtrated from the screen.

or pick one up off of Ebay

Gotcha! Thanks!

I finally found this via a link at Bruno's... http://www.lehrmangroup.com/rickard/airBagAndBulbs.html

Since I am going to sell the car in the next little while, I'll better spend my time cleaning it up with a little spit and polish... ;)

Yea, This Is Definitely A Bulb Issue. A Slight Tap On The Cluster May Get You Down The Road... But It's Time To Replace The Bulb And/or Make Sure It's Not Working Itself Loose......

Bulb. If you don't have an airbag, it will be a cake walk to change :)

The display is backlit by bulbs, one has burned it's last.

Have airbags... that's why the next owner will deal with it... :p (with full instructions, of course)

yeah i have a bulb out on the odometer. i like it because i dont have to see that my car has more then 200K on it every day. sure doesn't feel like it.

i also had some pixels fading out on me, pushed on the cluster and it all came back on.
