Had them sitting in my garage for awhile while I finished the work on the trailing arms and the transmission. I'm about done for now, just have some trim to put on and I gotta do something with the grill.

What do you think?

Very, VERY sharp!

Roundel goes in the center, no? Where'd you pick 'em up? Mind if I ask how much $$?

Nice. Do you have any driving impressions on the g-force tires yet?

Well, when I first started driving on them, I didn't have the rear seats put back in yet, and I thought "man, these are the noisiest tires ever!"

I put the seats back in last night, and the car is a LOT quieter. I'd say they're slightly more noisy than my 15" falkens, but we're comparing a 255 tire to a 205 tire, so I would expect them to make more noise.

Traction-wise, they're great, but I don't really know how great yet, as I haven't broken them free yet. I did a HARD 3rd gear full throttle acceleration on a curve this morning on my way into work (similar to an on ramp, but not banked) and they didn't even come close to slipping, whatever that anecdotal evidence is worth.

So far, I see nothing that justifies the higher price of the name brand michelin over their "off-brand" tire.

I would like to compare to the g-force sport, as they were a good bit cheaper. Wonder why?

I grabbed them from a guy in Tampa who had pulled them off of his Dad's 540i sport. He said they had tried to rattle-can refinish them, so he sold them for $200. There are a few places where the finish has cracked, but for a rattle-can job, they look pretty darn good. Besides, they're mostly going to be used as track wheels, and you can hardly tell anyway.

The tires, on the other hand, were $660 from Costco.

Oh, I'd love to. I think it would look perfect with those wheels and a drop.

Unfortunately, I've dumped more money than I can justify into the car, especially when I'm going to be selling it to my sister around August, and I don't think she's interested in lowering the car.

I'm going to use it to do a couple of HPDEs, autocrosses, and 1/4 mile drags until that time (and every once in awhile after), so I'd like to have it lowered, but I don't think its in the cards right now.

Where's Andy? He had these on his silver 530i and they looked GREAT. I can't wait to get some new ones for my E39 540i so i can put my 32's on the E34!
