I passed an E34 the other day which had wider and fatter 'kidney' grilles than mine, Sadly didn't catch whether it was a lefty or not, Imported? =S

AFAIK....in 540's always had wider grills...but in 1994 (sold as 1995) 525i production units had a wider grill also

I have a 95 with a 4/95 bild date and it has the narrow one. I've been wondering about this for some time because I've never seen another 95 with the narrow one.

95 is last year they offered e34 in US. Ther was no new model until the 97 e39. They added features to the 525i etc to make it sell a bit better until the new model came to the US.. IMO, the 95 is by far the best e34. Made is made 1/95

Who was the previous owner of the car? Some people like narrow grills better and convert their '95 car. I have a narrow grill car and a wide grill car. Wide looks better IMO.

Is The Wide Grille A Bolt On Mod For The Cars With Narrow Grille Provided You Change The Hood, Too?

Yes as long as you have the major components of the grill you can swap it right over.

All is original, The guy I bought it from kept the entire thing standard, In fact, substandard. It had cheap tyres, a cheap exhaust and a cheap air filter, The whole car just felt a bit strangled when I tested it, But the bodywork and the overall feel of the car won me over and I bought it, since then the only modifications I've made is a new interior, Lovely new front skirted bumper, 18" alloys, a stainless steel exhaust system and a K&N Air filter, Besides that the kidneys are OE. And man you all know your stuff! lol

I found my front bumper/skirt by accident in a BMW/Renault breakers yard just south of where I live, mounted on an old 5 series touring car, I took it to my workshop, stripped the decals off and resprayed it, I have no idea where you could get one yourself, I assume it was fabricated specially for that car :(

to be honest Swish, i would keep the thin grill you have now. To me that grill on your car matches flawlessly. I agree that in general, the wide grill looks better, but your ride is an exception...
