... and is it worth it?

I think I'm going to rebuild the whole thing at this point, have to regrind a valve and replace 2 rocker arms and a rocker shaft so it's pretty much got to come all the way apart.

I've heard of gas-filled valves, stelite (?) tips, racing springs, 57-angle valve grinds...

Does anyone have experience with building up a non-stock head and does it really matter? Is BMW stock close to hot-rot or will there be more power with more expensive parts?

I don't plan on RPMs above 6500 or so.

Robin, the stock parts are more than adequite for the job, aside of wasting money you wont see or be able to dyno a difference.

Unless you're planning on building a serious track car no need to waste money here... stock valvetrain is enough for pretty decent amount of boost as well
