Steering Woes

One cold and snowy day my wife needed my car. When I got it back there was a problem with the steering. When making a right hand turn the steering wheel gets momentarily stiff. This also occurs as the steering wheel returns . The technician at my dealership wants to replace just about every steering component. I have noticed that I have the same problems that everyone else experiences with the E34. I love the car so I am following the technicians recommendation because this is something I can not do. Man is it ever expensive. :( If anyone has had a similar problem and know the solution please let me know.

what do you mean stiff? Like hard to turn or it gets stuck in the turned position and you have to pull it straight?

It gets stuck in the turned position and I have to pull it straight. However it only happens at certain points during a 90 degree turn.

you could just need to bleed the steering fluid.
