View Full Version : Is this Check Control display normal?

1989 535i 11/88 build-date. All the other messages display and behave normally except for this one when depressing the button shows the outlined box. No faults that I know of. Time, temp, Ave MPG, etc. all work when pushing the turnsignal stalk & stomp code is 1-4-4-4.

My 7 shows "Check Control OK" when pushing the button.

I think that is normal, I remember that there was something mentioned in the owners manual. It is just the test function.

I get "check control ok" as well. My guess is just different check control modules have different test messages.

normal on my car thats what i get ,i just thought it was clear screen

Was exactly the same on my 1990 Euro spec e34.

Just means that there aren't any warnings. Unless the warning is safety critical like "Stop. Bad things happening" then pressing the right hand button hides the message. Pressing it again shows the message. If there are no messages you get the outline box.
