If the 323i 228mm flywheel is the same size as the e34(dohc) flywheel, what would stop me from using it. This is an honest question, my e30 w/ s52 has the 323i euro flywheel/e30 m3 clutch assem./ and 260 getrag. The big difference/question is will it fit the e36/e34 getrag trans. Why or why not.

Thanks All,
Herb

the only thing i can think of maybe different starter teeth, but you can change the starter and fix that if they are different

It can fit, but you would need a different starter(e30?), fork (320i? or 535i ?) and the M50 based clutches would not work. You would have to look into S14 ones, but then why do that. E36 M3 hardware fits, provides more surface, and less pedal effort to achieve the same clamping force an S14 sport clutch would. Plus, there are more options.

Is the 323 euro a single mass or whats the benefit? Are we talking about E36, E46, E30 323?

I had the option of goign 240mm E36 M3 flywheel/clutch but stayed 228mm flywheel/clutch as the clamping force is not that much greater, and in my clutch design it would probably not even matter.
