I looked on shoguns vin decoder for the 535.... It says I have a M30 B34........... Did they screw me and put in a e28 engine?? lol,
maybe I got the engine that was just laying around somewhere....

I got the information from a different source (through a member of this forum). My car is a 1989 535i, Australian delivered - engine came up as B34. However the engine looks and performs like a B35, and I have had the head off and it is same as B35. I am fairly certain the B34 head was different, at least on E28 series.
So I do not worry about it but would be interested to know what it all means - maybe an error in decoding?

I'd say an error in decoding. I thought b35 cylinder heads where in all e34 535i and produced 155kw.

That is what I thought too but i saw that and i was like AHHH!!! lol
It defenitly performs like a b35 and I thought all e34 came with b35 so that is why I asked. It has to be an error in the decoding, was a little frightning for a second :)
