My 328 has the Topline Harmon Kardon system but I heard the OEM replacements weren't that great and way overpriced (of course).
What's a good source for equal or better? I've searched the net but it's hard to tell who the good sources are.

All I need are the Mids & Tweets for now.

For reference, this system has the mids and tweets in the doors, woofers in the footwells and what appear to be two-way speakers (woofs) in the rear shelf encased in circular black plastic housings.

Thanks, I really appreciate all of the help and input from everyone on this project.

Alpine SPX are supposed to be very good, i bought a set as the focals were very expensive and yet to try them, but a mag did a right up on them and raved about the quality. I had focals in my last M3 and were awesome

I just ordered the Mids &Tweets "plug and play" upgrade kit tonight from http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/. I also picked up the door panel removal tool kit they were offering. 232.00 shipped.

This beats the hell out of the nearly 400.00 they were wanting for the OEM parts.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
