Hi, I've a theoretical question that ties into something I just noticed.
Is the connector pictured under number 1 in the link below a simple connector or a valve?

From what I've read the PCV system should export blowby through there into the intake manifold. I'm just curious what the function of each line is and and if it's true that the PCV air intake is attached to the air cleaner box.
If it'd be just a connector then why two separate lines (one thinner and one thicker)? Also if the connector is leaking around the base is that bad?

Mine was weeping oil out around the valve/connector so I replaced the o'ring which was probably original. Nice & dry now.

simple vapor seporator/connection, it attempts to draw a slight vacuum on the crankcase while not sucking oil, if it's leaking and not cracked it just needs a o-ring, the usual problem is the two lines going from it rotting off under the intake

Thanks :D

The thin one doing what? I'm thinking about replacing them both and I'd like to know what spec of tube it is: diameter, hardness, etc.

you can get them through the dealer and they are not too expensive, that yay they are the right size and grade to deal with the heat and oil
