First thing you'll want to do is buy chrome tips from Bavauto.com They just slide right on and make your current exhaust look sweet.

yeah
i've been wanting to do that, but im holding off on online purchases this month

but next month....

edit: is there any welding involved??

No sir. I got them, and used a rubber mallet to knock them on. They're wedged in there and aren't moving :)

Heres an old pic of the day they were put on.

Looking back at old pics makes you realize how beautiful your car is.

You should also look into Euro Trim.

cybereclipse

ur car looks really sharp
but whats the eurotrim??

Denton

We've got the same tires. :)

Macv

If you notice, below my taillights, the black trim. On yours, you have small lights on the side, red in the rear, orange in the front. Euro trim deletes those. On my pic you'll notice theres no lights.

You can get them at abrahamsmotorsport.com

Denton

Nah, do:

Euro trim
M5 plate filler
BavAuto tips
540 ducts
Rear headrests
Lip spoiler

In addition to a nice lowering.

can anyone do a photoshop of what mine would look like with clear turn signal on the front and rear

want to see what it would look like before i buy them

Macv

The clear markers bring too much attention to the already ugly sidemarkers. Just get the euro trim or put on a couple coats of smoked paint.

Just do Euro trim. DEFINITELY NOT CLEAR.

Why do smoked when you can delete them altogether? Cleans the car up a bit.

Thats the color my 525i was originally. Looks good, but now the modding starts (for most).

Those exhaust tips can they be used over if the muffler they are on needs to be replaced?

TIA

Jim

sorry i meant clear turn signals

To get rid of the amber in the headlights and tails? Those are a must as well. Makes the rear look more classy, and the front more clean.

The tips are just for appearance. If you need to replace the muffler, you'll probably need to buy another set of them. I'm sure you can slide the tip covers off, but you'll probably damage them in the process. Not exactly sure what you were asking.

I'm a BIG fan of ambers, but Kashmir might be the only color where I would do clears.

au contraire, I believe kashmir is the ONLY color that I would say for sure keep the ambers! I think the orange brings out the beigeness of the color. :)

Anyways, cybereclipse, your car looks nice and clean, but methinks you are not taking pictures of the side of your car because you subconsciously don't like the look of the chrome trim. If this hasn't been brought to your attention before, I think you will find great rewards in "blacking out" the trim (I've just been using black electrical-like tape for a couple years now w/o problem) That black trim works really well with the Kashmirbeigemetallic color!

alas, you are right
i do really hate the chrometrim, but i dont know how to black it out??

did u just cover it with black electrical tape???

should i paint it or cover it?!?!?!?!

ahhhH!!! too many questions!!!

btw where did u get your front spoiler

Those are 540i brake ducts. Mentioned above as a "must have"

Mine had them stock, but you can get them from bmaparts.com by ordering part numbers, 51-11-8-148-055 and 51-11-8-148-056. They're about 50-60 bucks a piece.

You'll also need 5 dollar brackets. Parts, 51-11-8-148-291 and 51-11-8-148-292

Oh I forgot, they require cutting of your bumper. You can see how here http://bmwe34.net/e34main/upgrade/540_ducts.asp. But unless you're skill at that, stay away or have someone else do it.

bma auto.com tells me :
Part Number: 511-18-148-056 is a non-stocking number.

If you keyed in a Part # that does not display, and contains the letter O or the digit Zero,
Please try entering the Part # again replacing the letter O by the Zero digit & vise versa.

Their website is newer (I believe) and isnt accurate. Give them a call and ask for Pat. He'll hook you up with anything.

1) Buy it
2) Paint it yourself
3) Cover it with Electrical tape

This (http://www.amazon.com/Trimbrite-T9005-Black-Out-Tape/dp/B00029XD62)is the stuff I used.... you can get it online or at your local parts store. I think people are leary of using the stuff cuz, well, it costs less than 4 bucks and it's just tape! But the guy before me had put it on, and I never even knew there was chrome under the tape for the first 6 months! When I discovered that, I redid a couple parts and taped over the chrome trims on the inside of the windows as well! It's a really cheap upgrade, I'm sure you'll be happy with it... and if ever no, it's not like you spent too much :D

Notice how your car has lights/reflectors on the black side trim, Macv's is just smooth all the way around, just how it supposed to be before US DOT decided to ruin the clean look :P
