That guy (the driver) is an idiot and the car is in sport, so he never hit overdrive or 4th, and theoretically the car could go faster.

535's have more torque but its still a drivers race. I would take a v8 e34 over an i6 any day. cant beat a 4.0/6 as an easy upgrade.;)

3.5l i6 in an e34 is faster than the 3.0 V8. It has slightly less horsepower, but it more than makes up for that with its superior torque.

i smoked a couple 530s in my 535ia before i chipped it :D auto vs auto run from 5-10 to 110-120 mph and the boss was a memory in the mirrors with me flipping him da bird

Torque 214.00 Ft-Lbs (290.2 NM) @ 4500.00 RPM

And thats the US version of the 535i, which makes less power than the euro version. The 535i also gets its power sooner. Either way, the 535i is faster.

Hmmm. I guess I could be wrong (that's painful) but I'd say the size of ones balls might have something to do with that. The V8 in mine feels like it's on steroids (not quite Mark Mcguire but close) compared to my wife's 528i e39.

i bet i would hang with a manual 535 with simillar miles, my PO(and only PO) was a 40+ yr old man who traded it in for a e39. The average mpg read 21 and the damn car feels like it has the same power it came with from the factory.

All i need is a little gas on a turn and the rear end is sideways:D

I kinda like how i get my power at 4500rpm, put in sport and let it cruise at 4000rpm when someones next to you, before you know it your at 6500rpm and the guy next to you is looking at your exhaust.

cant wait until i get a 3.63... or if money permits that built 4.0 ready for FI

in 48k miles i adjusted the valves once and that was when i had the engine on the stand doing gaskets and paint work, it was sounding about due when i sold it. the guy worships the ground that car rolls on and put a fairly nice paint job on it, that's taken down a couple notches by the fact that it looks like he painted the bumper trim with a rattle can after he armorall'd them
