Below is the picture I took while changing the spark plugs. Somebody told me that there should be a second grounding wire (left side of the pic) on another plug. Is it true? will that affect performance?

I have two on mine. At plug 3 and 6 IIRC.

Is it that specific where those grounding wires should be?

6th cylinder is if counting from the windshield or from the front side of the car?

counting from the front, so the 6th cylinder is nearest the windscreen

I would guess one strap per bank.

I have 2 straps, 525i 24v M50

If you want, I could take some pics and post up where they are?

Yes please :D.

I have two but I'm not sure if they're on 3 and 6. Then again, I have a crappy idle.

well, if you already have one then yes. otherwise do not bother taking off the cover. It seems to me that one strap should be enough. Please correct me if I am wrong.

there is something written about the siemens ms40 DME. thats I believe what is installed in my car. where that resistance is located, within the DME box?
and also it states only ignition coil from "may & chrite" can be used. mine are brembi. is it interchangable with Bosch?

use the same brand wires with the coils, not brembi coils and bosch wires etc...

According to the ETK the M50 engines after 5/93 had one ground strap, before that date 2. My car was built 6/95 & only has one.

Maybe I got it wrong but if you open the parts page showing the valve cover, ect for my 95 525i Touring it shows a ground strap there with the info I gave. If I open the page showing the coil & assorted parts & click on the only item that could be a ground strap it says its not used on my vehicle. So I assumed the part #12 42 1 437 633 is the ground strap we are talking about & the info given would explain why some cars have 2 & others have 1.
