what is the easiest way to get it open if my cable broke?

you'll need a long skinny flat blade screwdriver- look in through the grille on the driver's side of the car, next to the headlights- you'll see a small slot in the metal radiator support (nose) panel- stick the tip of the screwdriver in there and turn it a little, the hood will pop open.

DON'T GET YOUR HEAD TOO CLOSE TO THE HOOD!!!

When you release the hood in this manner you have a tendency to get your forehead too close the the edge of the hood so you can see the slot. Then wham-o, hood's open and you've got a nice knot sticking out of your cranium.

=) safety first...
