I have never tried to rev up beyond 1500 RPM until temp needle reaches atleast 3/4th of blue. So I kind of stay at first gear for a minute or so. After Tranny filter and oil change I wanted to see how is the shift pattern when the thing is winter cold. I tried and got worried because the tranny wont shift to 2nd until I reach almost 2500 RPM. However this changes to 1750 RPM when the thing is hot.

Called Kirt Koeller and he said it is supposed to behave like that. Until the system goes in to closed loop the tranny tries to hold back shifts.

So now my question to you all: What is your drive pattern after you start the car in the winter mornings?

Thanks
Arun

on the auto trans there is a 180s delay before it shifts "normally", however if it reaches a certain temp (60C) first it will also go into normal mode.

its to warm up the engine faster. it will be disabled once you hit 25mph
