I hear from a BMW transmission specialist that there is a recall coming in the next 6 weeks. There is no way this is guaranteed, as it's sort of word-of-mouth at this time. If you have paid for a new transmission with the 'no reverse gear' issues, find your receipts and put them in a safe place. You should be reimbursed for your expense.
