Going to pull the head soon and will need new gaskets.

Is there a brand to choose or avoid?

I see a "corteco" (?) on ebay for $117 or so.

Thanks!!

Robin,

Goetz, Elring and Reinz are all good. I buy Reinz and Goetz, and I think Goetz is the most expensive of the bunch. Patrick will be able to sell you any of the three.

Corteco is a generic OEM supplier, make a lot of bushings and things like the rubber parts of motor mounts.

I seem to remember Bill R recommending using genuine BMW headgaskets - might be worth checking with him what his opinion & reasons are.

BMA has the Reinz for $100 or so. I'll have to call and see what the price is on the Gurts. For some reason I thought elring were OEM? Thanks for the replies!

In Australia if I am getting the head reconditioned or machined by a specialist I order the gaskets through him - often cheaper and certainly simpler than ordering elsewhere. My head guy supplied Goetze German made set which I am happy with.
