Hi,
I have been having a long and painful problem with my 90 520i m20 BMW.
It looks like cylinders 1 - 3 - 5 arent fireing but the car still runs.
I am pretty sure its not the injection, I put in new sparkplugs, started the car for a minute or two, and then
i removed the plugs, and i noticed that plugs number 1-3-5 were wet and had no "soot"(no burn stains) wich tells me that there is no spark i think.
I changed all 6 wires but that made no difference, Then all suddenly the car started running like new.
After a week or so it happened again, same problem and the same fuel stench.
I used contact spray on all plugs that i could find, that didnt help, maybe im not finding them all =(.
Then again the day after the car worked fine, but only for a day.
Do you guys have any suggestion on what might be wrong? Is it maybe a known problem for bmw's?
