View Full Version : BMW Flashlight -to-> Power Inverter

Here's a little mod to the BMW flashlight I did (it was broken).

I didn't want to plug my nasty cheap power inverter into the cig lighter every time I used it, so I decided to turn the BMW flashlight casing into a little 12v plug hidden in the glove box.

I dremeled out the inside of the flashlight & epoxied a fuse holder into it:

Then the internals were soldered up (Yeah, I could have done better.):

the wires supplying the power to the torch are not of a suitable rating for mains power inverter - should keep yopu warm in winter though when you start a fire...

it's a very weak power inverter with a very old (low wattage drawing) laptop, you should see how thin the actual 12v supply wires were/are on the power inverter
