Happy new year everyone

I was messin' around under the hood today, and noticed one radiator clip was broken, and the other wasn't attached, I can move the radiator around a little, and even pick it up a little on the driver's side. It didn't seem to move around enough to hit anything that moves (fan).

I must not be thinking, but I don't understand the radiator clips, unless mine are installed incorrectly.

What is the little alligator mouth type part on the clips for?
How are the clips supposed to look when attached correctly, anybody got a good pic?

Hope somebody can help lol

I used some fairly stiff wire instead of the plastic mount, and some bits of rubber to cushion things.

Installed clip -- the 2 "teeth" simple pinch against each other & provide a ratchet-like attachment to keep them in place. The "hook" grabs the underside of the sheet metal lip:

I just happen to have (shameless plug) a few brand new OEM clips for sale for $2.50 ea. + postage:
